At Tykoon Sports, we believe in using our platform to make a real difference. That’s why we teamed up with Michigan State University football player Jalen Thompson for an inspiring event at his alma mater, Cass Tech High School, in Detroit. On July 27th, Jalen hosted a youth football camp aimed at fostering athletic skills, teamwork, and combating gun violence through powerful initiatives and educational sessions.
Jalen Thompson, a standout on the field, is equally dedicated to creating positive change off the field. This camp offered young athletes the chance to hone their football skills while learning about the importance of community unity and overcoming adversity.
The event was a collaborative effort with confirmed partners including End Gun Violence Michigan, Xenith, and Tykoon Sports, with the Detroit Auto Show proudly serving as the presenting sponsor. These partnerships ensured that the camp was not only impactful but also far-reaching, providing attendees with valuable resources and support.
“I’m excited to give back to my community and use this platform to promote positive change,” said Jalen Thompson. “Gun violence is a critical issue, and through this camp, we aim to inspire young people to choose paths of peace and empowerment.”
The camp featured skill-based training sessions along with discussions focused on anti-gun violence, providing a comprehensive experience for the young athletes. A portion of the proceeds from the event was donated to End Gun Violence Michigan, further supporting their mission to create safer communities.
At Tykoon Sports, we’re proud to support initiatives that make a tangible impact in our communities. Stay tuned as we continue to leverage our influence to champion important causes and drive positive change.
